Surgery Recovery Starts Before Surgery

Many patients prepare extensively for the procedure itself — but recovery preparation often gets overlooked.

Healing increases demand for nutrients involved in tissue repair, immune support, collagen production, and recovery. HealFast was designed specifically to support the body before and after surgery with physician-formulated nutritional support created for the recovery process.

Instead of scrambling afterward, many patients now prepare for recovery before surgery even happens.

Because supporting recovery starts long before the procedure is over.

ALL WEEKEND LONG

FRIDAY EVENTS ACROSS CONNECTICUT

Like many, my mornings started with bland grocery store coffee.
Then Trade changed everything by connecting me with a curated selection of roasts perfectly matched to my tastes, crafted by passionate small-batch roasters.
I took a quick quiz, and now I enjoy unique, freshly roasted coffees delivered straight to my door.

Not only do they taste better than what I was buying before, but supporting local artisans makes me feel great about the money I’m spending on coffee each week.
Plus, Trade is offering Connecticut Lifestyles readers up to 30% off your first month subscription when you sign up today. Trust us, you deserve the upgrade. Our only regret—not finding them sooner!

TODAY IN CONNECTICUT HISTORY

Connecticut Prepares For World War I Registration

As the United States mobilized for World War I in 1917, Congress passed the Selective Service Act to help build the military forces needed overseas. The law required men between the ages of 21 and 31 to register for potential military service, marking one of the largest national registration efforts in American history.

Across Connecticut, local officials prepared for a massive turnout as more than 158,000 eligible men were expected to register. Newspapers urged residents to comply with the new law, while communities organized registration locations and public information campaigns to ensure the process ran smoothly.

The period also highlighted differing views on military service. While many residents strongly supported the war effort, others, including some Yale University faculty and students, registered as required but publicly expressed conscientious objections to participating in combat. The registration effort reflected both the patriotic enthusiasm and public debate that accompanied America's entry into World War I.
