New data reveals where Connecticut ranks in real estate taxes.

A new WalletHub study ranks Connecticut as having the third-highest real estate property taxes in the nation.

Homeowners in the state pay an average of $6,575 annually on a home valued at $343,200, with an effective tax rate of 1.92%.

For comparison, a home priced at the U.S. median value of $303,400 would result in $5,813 in annual property taxes.

Connecticut sits behind New Jersey and Illinois, which claim the top two spots for the highest real estate taxes in the country.
