Multiple egg hunts, unique formats, and a full day of family fun
If you want options this Easter, EverWonder’s Annual Egg Scramble is easily one of the most versatile events happening, running now through April 4. With three different experiences to choose from, families can pick what fits best, from a sensory-friendly indoor hunt (9:00–10:00 AM), to a flashlight egg hunt (6:30–8:30 PM) for kids ages 5–10, all the way to the main event on April 4 with multiple timed hunts between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM.
The main event brings the classic egg hunt experience but with extras like optional museum access and a live animal experience featuring birds of prey from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Tickets vary depending on the experience you choose, and events tend to sell out fast, so double-check your time slot and lock it in early if you’re planning to go.

Easter fun surrounded by planes and hands-on activities
For something a little different, the New England Air Museum is hosting an Easter Bunny & Egg Hunt event on April 3 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Kids can search for eggs around the museum, meet the Easter Bunny, and take photos while exploring exhibits filled with real aircraft.
The best part is that the event is included with regular museum admission, with a discount available for kids when paired with an adult ticket. It’s a fun mix of learning and Easter activities, and it’s happening rain or shine.

A scenic Easter event with games, prizes, and entertainment
If you’re looking for something a little more elevated, Aquila’s Nest Vineyards is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on April 5 with over 2,000 eggs filled with prizes. The event is split into two sessions, with younger kids (under 5) arriving at 11:30 AM for a 12:00 PM hunt, and older kids (6+) arriving at 12:30 PM for a 1:00 PM start.
Beyond the egg hunt, families can enjoy games and activities with the Easter Bunny and Safari Pete from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, plus food options like JJ Stacks Food Truck. It’s a unique mix of family fun in a vineyard setting, just keep in mind there’s a minimum drink purchase required for adults attending.

THIS MONTH IN CONNECTICUT HISTORY
The Sewing Machine Patent Wars
In the mid-1800s, Connecticut became the center of a fierce innovation race sparked by Elias Howe Jr., who secured one of the first U.S. patents for a sewing machine in 1846. His design introduced the lockstitch mechanism, a breakthrough that still powers modern machines today. But instead of immediate success, his invention triggered a wave of competitors rushing to create and patent their own versions.
What followed was a series of intense legal battles, as Howe fought to protect his patent from copycats, including major names like Isaac Singer. After years in court, he ultimately won and secured royalties, turning his invention into a long-term financial success. The experience also changed his approach, leading him to collaborate with and acquire rights from other inventors rather than compete through lawsuits.
By the time of his death in 1867, Howe had helped turn Bridgeport into a hub for sewing machine manufacturing and innovation. His legacy lived on through both his company’s success and the lasting impact of his invention, which helped shape an entire industry during a time of rapid industrial growth.
