It’s a rare opportunity to tour this historic 1864 residence
For one day only, the historic Lyman Homestead in Middlefield is opening its doors for guided tours this Saturday, February 15 at 11 am.
Visitors will step inside the grand home and learn about the Lyman family, whose presence in Middlefield dates back to 1741.
Historian and author Diana Ross McCain will lead the 45-minute tour, offering insights into David Lyman, the wealthy entrepreneur behind the homestead’s construction.
Tickets are $12 per person and include one of Lyman Orchards’ famous apple cider donuts. Space is limited to 15 participants per tour, and advance reservations are required.

Meet the Hartford Leaf Peepers – plus new promotions & giveaways

The Hartford Yard Goats are switching things up for the 2025 season with a new alternate identity: the Hartford Leaf Peepers! The team will take the field under this fall-inspired moniker on September 3 as part of their 10th anniversary celebration.

CONNECTICUT LAWMAKER SUBMITS INTERESTING NEW BILL FOR MOVIEGOERS
A Connecticut state senator proposed a bill requiring theaters to disclose the duration of movie previews, allowing viewers to skip them if they prefer. State Senator Martin Looney emphasized that people should have the choice to arrive just in time for the main feature if they wish.
