A lot of people think frozen seafood is the backup plan — something you buy when you can’t get it fresh. But here’s the truth: when it comes to quality, frozen can actually be fresher than what’s behind the grocery store counter.
Most “fresh” fish has already been frozen for transport, and is then thawed for display (sometimes even thawed and refrozen many times!). By the time you see it on ice at the seafood counter, it may have been sitting there for days. Not exactly what you pictured when you thought “fresh,” right?
For fish that’s truly fresh, “frozen” should be your go-to choice. Wild Alaskan Company freezes wild-caught seafood from Alaska just hours after harvest, locking in peak flavor, texture, and nutrients — perfectly preserved until you’re ready to cook. It’s not a shortcut. It’s the smart way to enjoy top-quality seafood at its best.

THIS MONTH IN CONNECTICUT HISTORY
A Deadly Explosion That Changed Hartford Forever
In the mid-19th century, Hartford was a rapidly growing industrial city, but it was unprepared for the catastrophe that struck at the Fales & Gray Car Works factory. A massive steam boiler exploded, blasting through thick brick walls, collapsing part of the building, and injuring scores of workers. The force of the blast left devastation in its wake, marking the worst industrial accident the city had ever experienced.
Nine men were killed instantly, and more succumbed to their injuries in the days that followed. Dozens more suffered severe burns and trauma. As residents rushed to help, it became painfully clear that Hartford lacked the infrastructure to respond to a disaster of that scale. Unlike New Haven, which already had a public hospital, Hartford had no centralized facility to coordinate emergency medical care.
The tragedy sparked urgent conversations about the city’s responsibilities to its workers and families. Within weeks, local leaders and residents pushed for change, and the movement led to the chartering of Hartford Hospital. When it opened a few years later, it stood as a direct response to the explosion, transforming grief and loss into a lasting institution dedicated to care and healing.

It's not your fault. For millions over 35, it’s a simple mineral deficiency that’s ruining your sleep, keeping you up at night, and leaving you drained during the day.
