  • Proposed Bill Aims to Cap Hidden College Fees in Connecticut: A new bill in Connecticut seeks to prevent colleges from charging undisclosed or miscellaneous fees beyond tuition and room and board. If passed, the legislation would also require schools to refund unused meal plan funds to students at the end of each semester.

  • Connecticut State Rep. Suspended Following DUI Arrest: State Rep. Aundre Bumgardner (D-41) was arrested for DUI and has been stripped of all committee and leadership roles. Bumgardner issued a statement taking full responsibility for his actions.

  • Connecticut Graduate Sues School District, Claims She is Illiterate: A former Hartford Public High School student who graduated with honors and received a UConn scholarship is suing the district, claiming she cannot read or write. She alleges that the school system failed her despite awarding her high grades and academic recognition.
