Connecticut Senate Unveils ‘Ratepayers First Act’

The Connecticut Senate has introduced the “Ratepayers First Act,” aimed at addressing the rising cost of electricity in the state. Although no concrete policies have been outlined yet, the bill remains an “open book” according to State Sen. Norm Needleman, co-chair of the Energy Committee. Lawmakers intend to use the legislation to explore innovative ways to reduce electricity rates for residents.

Grant Program to Boost Connecticut’s Supply Chains

Governor Ned Lamont announced a $25 million Strategic Supply Chain Initiative to strengthen Connecticut’s core industries such as high-tech manufacturing, renewable energy, and information technology. The program, administered by the DECD, aims to help local companies expand operations and attract supply chain businesses from other states and internationally. Lamont emphasized the initiative’s role in creating good-paying jobs and fostering economic growth.

State DOT to Address Stratford Flooding with Elevated Roadway

A flood-prone section of Route 113 near Stratford’s Sikorsky Memorial Airport will soon be raised to combat rising sea levels. The road, which has experienced significant sinking since its construction in 2016, will undergo elevation work to ensure safer and more reliable access for the community.
